Electrical Science, Inc. is an engineering consulting firm located in the New
York metropolitan area and was founded in 2002 by Andrew Stevens.
Electrical Science provides services in a variety of disciplines,
including computer software and hardware design, network engineering,
and embedded systems. Some recent projects include:
- due diligence on a startup company for potential investors in the area of real time locating systems (RTLS)
- a sales database for a direct marketing company to compile revenue data from multiple sales channels, including Web, phone, and mail orders
- a metadata database for digital object identifiers (DOIs),
including XML bulk loader and URL pinger
- a management system for "coinbox" service on 802.11b wireless
LANs
- custom firmware for a wireless access point using embedded Linux
- architecture and deployment of a UNIX-on-the-desktop office
environment for a startup semiconductor company
- a patient database for a major hospital
- LAN architecture and backup strategy for a law firm
- due diligence on a possible patent infringement in the area of wireless networking
- forensic analysis of voice mail backup tapes for litigation purposes
- Linux SCSI device driver programming for magnetic tape recovery
Management
Andrew Stevens, Ph.D., P.E. received his bachelors degree from
M.I.T. and his doctorate from Columbia University, both in electrical
engineering. He has held industry positions at Bell Laboratories,
Argonne National Laboratory, IBM Research, the Voyager Company, John
Wiley & Sons, and Double Agent. He has published articles in
several scientific journals and holds three patents in the areas of
analog circuit design and computer user interfaces. Dr. Stevens is a
licensed professional engineer in New York State.
